Didactic material for children with disabilities

The library of didactic material for children with disabilities in the premises of the Association of parents of children with disabilities "Little Mermaid", was created as a result of the first Community dialogue thanks to the informal youth group from Zavidovići.
Thanks to the good results and the benefits that children have from this project, the same group of young people, with the help of IOM, the Municipality of Zavidovići and other local community contributions, has been given the opportunity to continue providing new library material available to all library users.
Part of this project was the "Meet the Differences" workshop through which the children from this Association, together with their parents, visited the mosque and church and talked about the beauty of diversity offered by their city.
The final activities were a photo workshop where they discussed the mentioned visits, then printed, plasticized and exhibited photographs in the library's premises as well as an English language course for 10 pre-school children organized in 4 modules.
With this project, the work of the employees and volunteers of the Association is facilitated and the quality of working with children is improved, which will result in better motivation and better results.
These activities are part of the project "Community Based Approach to Support Youth in Targeted Municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, implemented by IOM and supported by USAID Bosnia and Herzegovina, British Embassy Sarajevo and the Embassy of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
