Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), IOM aims to prevent irregular migration, stop the trafficking of human beings, contribute to national development, and assist the BH Government to manage migration activities.

UN in Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the terrorist attack in Zvornik
Ujedinjene nacije u Bosni i Hercegovini osudile teroristički napad u Zvorniku
SARAJEVO, 28. 4. 2015. godine
Yuri Afanasiev, rezidentni koordinator Ujedinjenih nacija, danas je u ime tima UN-a u Bosni i Hercegovini, osudio teroristički napad u Zvorniku.
“Potrebno je očuvati sigurnost svih građana, i ovaj incident ne smije ugroziti stabilnost zajednica i napredak u izgradnji mira i tolerancije kojeg Bosna i Hercegovina postiže”, rekao je Afanasiev, i apelovao na nadležne vlasti i institucije da provedu punu i brzu istragu.
Afanasiev je prepoznao pozitivnu ulogu vlasti i lokalnih službi, posebno načelnika opštine i predsjednika Skupštine opštine u Zvorniku koji rade na smirivanju situacije u njihovoj zajednici.
Afanasiev je izrazio saučešće porodici policajca koji je ubijen u napadu, i poželio brz oporavak onima koji su pretrpjeli povrede tom prilikom.

UN in Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the terrorist attack in Zvornik
SARAJEVO, 28 April 2015
Yuri Afanasiev, the UN Resident Coordinator, today expressed his condemnation of the terrorist attack in Zvornik, on behalf of the UN Country Team in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Safety of all citizens should be preserved and this incident should not jeopardize stability of communities and progress in building peace and tolerance that Bosnia and Herzegovina is achieving”, Afanasiev said, and urged respective authorities and institutions to conduct a full and swift investigation.
Afanasiev recognized positive role of designate authorities and local administration, in particular the Mayor and Chairman of Municipal Assembly of Zvornik aiming at calming down the situation in their community.
Afanasiev expressed his condolences to family of policeman who was killed in the attack and wished a speedy recovery to those who were injured.
