Međunarodna organizacija za migracije (IOM) i Misija OSCE-a u Bosni i Hercegovini su zajednički, u suradnji sa Ministarstvom sigurnosti Bosne i Hercegovine, organizirali događaj na temu “Uloga sektora socijalne zaštite u radu sa djecom i porodicama povratnika sa stranih ratišta”. 
Cilj ovog događaja je osvrt na ulogu sektora socijalne zaštite u implementaciji Plana repatrijacije i programa reintegracije, rehabilitacije i resocijalizacije državljana Bosne i Hercegovine, povratnika iz zona sukoba Sirije i Iraka, osvrt na dosadašnje napore za osnaživanje ovog sektora te značaj protokola o postupanju i plana komuniciranja u procesu rehabilitacije i reintegracije povratnika. 
Savjet ministara Bosne i Hercegovine je u augustu ove godine, na prijedlog Ministarstva sigurnosti Bosne i Hercegovine, usvojio Plan repatrijacije i program reintegracije, rehabilitacije i resocijalizacije državljana Bosne i Hercegovine, povratnika iz zona sukoba Sirije i Iraka. Program reintegracije, rehabilitacije i resocijalizacije za sve kategorije državljana BiH sadrži kratkoročne, srednjoročne i dugoročne mjere bezbjednosti, kao i mjere zdravstvene i socijalne zaštite, osiguranja pristupu obrazovanju, ekonomske podrške i zapošljavanja, pravne pomoći u lokalnoj zajednici i druge potrebne mjere.
Usvajanje politika koje prepoznaju izazove i potrebne resurse za podršku repatrijaciji, reintegraciji, resocijalizaciji i rehabilitaciji povratnika iz zona sukoba i članova njihovih porodica važan je korak u ispunjavanju međunardonih obaveza Bosne i Hercegovine te jačanju sveukupnog odgovora na sigurnosne i društvene izazove u ovoj oblasti. 

The role of the social protection sector in working with children and families of returnees from conflict zones

International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina jointly, in cooperation with the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized an event on "The role of the social protection sector in working with children and families of returnees from conflict zones". 
The aim of this event is to review the role of the social protection sector in the implementation of the Repatriation Plan and the Program of reintegration, rehabilitation and resocialization of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, returnees from the conflict zones of Syria and Iraq, a review of previous efforts to strengthen this sector, and the importance of the protocol on handling and the communication plan in the process of rehabilitation and reintegration of returnees.
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has, at the proposal of the Ministry of Security, adopted the Repatriation plan and Program of reintegration, rehabilitation and resocialization of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, returnees from the conflict zones of Syria and Iraq, in August this year. The program of reintegration, rehabilitation and resocialization for all categories of BiH citizens contains short-term, medium-term and long-term security measures, as well as health and social protection measures, ensuring access to education, economic support and employment, legal assistance in the local community and other necessary measures.
The adoption of policies that recognize the challenges and the necessary resources to support the repatriation, reintegration, resocialization and rehabilitation of returnees from conflict zones and their family members is an important step in fulfilling Bosnia and Herzegovina's international obligations and strengthening the overall response to security and social challenges in this area.
