Representatives of youth from the local community of Gradisce (Zenica) and representatives of the IOM signed a contract on the implementation of the project "Organized waste disposal in municipality of Gradisce". This solves one of the problems of the local population! The locals dumped waste for years on an illegal dumpsite of Raca and several smaller dumps near houses. Now, with the effort and work, as well as the persistence of youth and the support of the IOM, this problem has been solved systematically after more than ten years. “Alba”, a waste disposal company, finally came to the area of this local community and contributed to the realization of the project by setting up a green island near the primary school, and the planting of flowers at this location is also planned. These activities are part of the project "Community Based Approach to Support Youth in Targeted Municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina" implemented by IOM, supported by @USAID Bosnia and Herzegovina, British Embassy Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Predstavnici mladih iz mjesne zajednice Gradišće (Zenica) i predstavnici IOM-a potpisali su ugovor o sprovođenju projekta “Organizovani odvoz otpada u MZ Gradišće”. Time se rješava jedan od problema lokalnog stanovništva! Mještani su otpad godinama odlagali na ilegalnu deponiju Rača i nekoliko manjih deponija u blizini kuća. Sada je uz trud i rad, kao i upornost mladih te podršku IOM-a ovaj problem, nakon više od deset godina, sistemski riješen. Alba d.o.o, firma koja se bavi odvozom otpada, konačno je došla na podrujče ove mjesne zajednice te i sama doprinijela realizaciji projekta i to postavljanjem zelenog ostrva u blizini osnovne škole i Doma, a planirana je i sadnja cvijeća na istoj lokaciji. Ove aktivnosti dio su projekta “Podrška mladima u lokalnim zajednicama u Bosni i Hercegovini” - sprovodi ga IOM, a podržavaju USAID BIH, Vlada Velike Britanije i Ambasada Republike Italije u BiH.
