Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), IOM aims to prevent irregular migration, stop the trafficking of human beings, contribute to national development, and assist the BH Government to manage migration activities.

Sarajevo: Regional Steering Committee / Regionalni Upravni odbor
The Regional Steering Committee of the project "Building institutional capacity in the Western Balkans to deal with challenges related to reintegration resocialization and rehabilitation of returning foreign terrorist fighters (RFTF) and their families from conflict zones", financially supported by the European Union and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), gathered today in Sarajevo.
The meeting is attended by representatives of relevant institutions from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Kosovo*, as well as donors and partners working in the field of reintegration, resocialization and rehabilitation of returnees from conflict zones and their families.
• Results, examples of good practice, and lessons learned were presented through the presentation of the Project report.
• Participants discussed the challenges that institutions face, as well as future steps.
• The importance of the cooperation of all involved in order to ensure an adequate response and a coordinated approach at the regional level was emphasized.
Regionalni Upravni odbor projekta "Izgradnja institucionalnih kapaciteta na Zapadnom Balkanu za suočavanje sa izazovima vezanim za reintegraciju, resocijalizaciju i rehabilitaciju povratnika iz zona sukoba i njihovih porodica" kojeg finansijski podržava Europska Unija, a implementira Međunarodna Organizacija za Migracije (IOM), okupio se danas u Sarajevu.
Sastanku prisustvuju predstavnici relevantnih institucija iz Albanije, Bosne i Hercegovine, Sjeverne Makedonije i Kosova*, kao i donatori i partneri koji djeluju u polju reintegracije, resocijalizacije i rehabilitacije povratnika iz zona sukoba i njihovih porodica.
• Kroz predstavljanje izvještaja Projekta, predstavljeni su rezultati, primjeri dobre prakse, te naučene lekcije.
• Govorilo se i o izazovima s kojima se institucije suočavaju, te o budućim koracima.
• Istaknuta je važnost suradnje svih uključenih kako bi se osigurao adekvatan odgovor, te koordiniran pristup na regionalnom nivou.
