Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), IOM aims to prevent irregular migration, stop the trafficking of human beings, contribute to national development, and assist the BH Government to manage migration activities.

Presentation of the Global Compact for safe, orderly and regular migration (GCM)
IOM, the UN Migration Agency and the Office of the High Commissioner of the United Nations for Refugees in Bosnia and Herzegovina presented today Global Compact for safe, orderly and regular migration (GCM). It preceded the adoption of The New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants in 2016, and it is an agreement which will be used to improve coordination in the multidimensional field of international migration and will serve as a framework for international cooperation to address issues relating to migrants, the mobility of people and all aspects of migration internationally. The speakers were Sinan Sinanoglu, UN resident coordinator, Semiha Borovac, Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia And Herzegovina, Dragan Mektic, Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Peter Van der Auweraert, IOM Sub-Regional Coordinator for the Western Balkans, and Anne-Christine Eriksson, UNHCR Regional Representative for South-Eastern Europe.

IOM, UN agencija za migracije i Kancelarija Visokog komesarijata Ujedinjenih nacija za izbjeglice u BiH predstavili su danas Globalni sporazum za sigurne, uređene i regularne migracije (GCM). Njemu je prethodilo usvajanje Njujorške deklaracije o izbjeglicama i migrantima u 2016. godini, a riječ je sporazumu koji će se primjenjivati za unapređenje koordinacije u višedimenzionalnoj oblasti međunarodnih migracija i služiće kao okvir za međunarodnu saradnju na rješavanju pitanja koja se odnose na migrante, mobilnost ljudi i sve aspekte međunarodnih migracija. Na događaju su govorili Sinan Sinanoglu, UN resident koordinatorica, Semiha Borovac, ministrica za ljudska prava i izbjeglice BiH, Dragan Mektić, ministar bezbjednosti BiH, Peter Van der Auweraert, Subregionalni koordinator IOM-a za Zapadni Balkan te Anne-Christine Eriksson, regionalna predstavnica UNHCR-a za Jugoistočnu Evropu.
