Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), IOM aims to prevent irregular migration, stop the trafficking of human beings, contribute to national development, and assist the BH Government to manage migration activities.

Opened educational corner "Little Mermaid" in Association of Parents of Children with Developmental difficulties in Zavidovici
Educational corner "Little Mermaid" in Association of Parents of Children with Developmental difficulties in Zavidovici opened on Tuesday, May 8th! The Corner consists of a library equipped with didactic material (tablets, audio books, puzzles, material for coarse and fine motor skills, etc.) for children with developmental difficulties and two cabins for parents training. The ceremony was attended by Peter Van Der Auweraert, IOM Chief of Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Western Balkans Sub/regional Coordinator, Kristina Tina Seslija, Grant Manager and Hasim Mujanovic, Mayor of Zavidovici. The "Little Mermaid" Corner is an idea that has emerged as a result of the first "Community Dialogue" in Zavidovici - activitie under the "Community Based Approach to Support Youth in Targeted Municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina" project, implemented by IOM, supported by USAID Bosnia and Herzegovina, British Embassy Sarajevoand Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Edukativni kutak "Mala sirena" u prostorijama istoimenog Udruženja roditelja djece s poteškoćama u razvoju u Zavidovićima otvoren je u utorak 8. maja! Kutak se sastoji od biblioteke opremljene didaktičkim materijalom (tablet, zvučne knjige, sklapalice, materijal za grubu i finu motoriku i slično) za djecu s poteškoćama uz razvoju, te dvije kabine za edukaciju roditelja. Svečanost su svojim prisustvom uveličali Peter Van der Auweraert, šef misije Međunarodne organizacije za migracije u BiH i subregionalni koordinator IOM-a za Zapadni Balkan, Kristina Šešlija, grant menadžerica i Hašim Mujanović, načelnik Zavidovića. Kutak "Mala sirena" je ideja nastala kao rezultat prvog "Dijaloga u zajednici" u Zavidovićima – aktivnosti u sklopu projekta "Podrška mladima u lokalnim zajednicama u Bosni i Hercegovini", koji implementira IOM, a podržavaju USAID BiH, Vlada Velike Britanije i Ambasada Republike Italije u Bosni i Hercegovini.
