Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), IOM aims to prevent irregular migration, stop the trafficking of human beings, contribute to national development, and assist the BH Government to manage migration activities.

Coordination Meeting on the Prevention and Combatting Violent Extremism (P/CVE) in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Coordination Meeting on the Prevention and Combatting Violent Extremism (P/CVE) in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held yesterday, at the UN House, and organized by the Ministry of Security of BiH, with support from the IOM Mission in Sarajevo.
With opening remarks delivered by the BiH Minister, Mr. Dragan Mektić, the meeting took place within the framework of the BiH Strategy for Preventing and Combatting Violent Extremism 2015-2020, and it was chaired by the P/CVE National Coordinator for BiH, Mr. Samir Rizvo.
With an overall goal of strengthening the coordination among all the relevant actors in the field of P/CVE, the objectives of the meeting were to provide an overview of all the relevant actors and activities, to outline further coordination led by the Ministry of Security and to highlight upcoming events and policy discussions. With over 50 representatives of the government institutions, international and local organizations, and academia in attendance, the meeting was also an opportunity to hear about their work in the field of P/CVE and learn from their experiences. In conclusion, the Ministry vowed to ensure coordination among all the relevant partners, and called upon all the institutions and organizations to regularly share information about their work, in order to avoid overlaps, and best address the phenomenon of violent extremism and related concerns in BiH.

Koordinacioni sastanak o prevenciji i borbi protiv nasilnog ekstremizma u Bosni i Hercegovini održan je juče u UN Zgradi, u organizaciji Ministarstva sigurnosti BiH, uz podršku Misije IOM-a u Sarajevu.
Dragan Mektić, ministar sigurnosti BiH, svojim uvodnim govorom obilježio je početak sastanka, koji je održan u okviru Strategije BiH za prevenciju i suzbijanje nasilnog ekstremizma 2015-2020, a njime je predsjedavao Samir Rizvo, nacionalni koordinator BiH za prevenciju i borbu protiv nasilnog ekstremizma.
S opštim ciljem jačanja koordinacije između svih relevantnih aktera u oblasti prevencije i borbe protiv nasilnog ekstremizma, ciljevi sastanka bili su da ponude presjek svih relevantnih aktera i aktivnosti, iznesu pregled za dalju koordinaciju vođenu od strane Ministarstva sigurnosti i najave predstojeće događaje i diskusije o relevantnim politikama.
Sa preko 50 predstavnika vladinih institucija, međunarodnih i lokalnih organizacija i predstavnika akademskih institucija, sastanak je takođe bio prilika da se čuje o njihovom radu u polju prevencije i borbe protiv nasilnog ekstremizma i uči iz njihovih iskustava. Na kraju, ministarstvo je obećalo da će osigurati koordinaciju među svim relevantnim akterima i pozvalo sve institucije i organizacije da redovno razmjenjuju informacije o svom radu, kako bi se izbjegla preklapanja i najbolje djelovalo na fenomen nasilnog ekstremizma i vezanih dešavanja u BiH.
