Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), IOM aims to prevent irregular migration, stop the trafficking of human beings, contribute to national development, and assist the BH Government to manage migration activities.

Coordination Meeting of Heads of Border Police in Budva, Montenegro
On the 31st of October, 2017, IOM facilitated a Coordination Meeting of Heads of Border Police in Budva, Montenegro. This one-day meeting is one in a series of regular coordination meetings between Border Police Directorates in the Western Balkans supported by IOM, in which representatives present and exchange updated information related to the migration situation in each respective country in order to enhance coordination on shared migration challenges in the region. This meeting was supported through the project “Enhancing Capacities and Mechanisms to Identify and Protect Vulnerable Migrants”, funded by the U.S. Department of State: Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration Participation of a delegation from Greece was additionally supported through the project, "Strengthening Cross-Border Cooperation along the Western Balkan Route (CROBOWEB)", funded by the U.S. State Department, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (US INL).
