Navigating Cultures and Languages as a Teen
I am Rashid, a 14-year-old from Pakistan, currently residing at TRC Ušivak with my family. As my parents are not English speakers, I often step up to communicate on their behalf. My life’s journey has equipped me with a diverse set of skills and talents. In Greece, I embraced the local culture, learning Greek, mastering the violin, and even picking up skateboarding. Our stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina is uncertain, but I have already been welcomed with invitations to guitar lessons and opportunities to enhance my English. I am multilingual, speaking Urdu, Punjabi, English, Greek, and a touch of Farsi. In many ways, I serve as the family translator, bridging language barriers, even when I am still grasping the nuances myself.
Životni put me je obogatio nizom vještina i talenata.
