Follow my path from a shoe-making shop to an artist

I am Merima. My family and I arrived at TRC Borici a few months ago after failed attempts to reach Western Europe. Back in Afghanistan, we ran our own shoe-making shop, where I helped my parents alongside my sister, without ever attending school. During my time here, I discovered a passion for painting. Given the materials, I poured my heart into numerous paintings, expressing our failed border crossings, my mother’s distress, and my own emotions about our nomadic life. With each piece, my talent blossomed, and I began to find my unique style. Now, I paint alongside my sister and mother in the creative corner, hopeful for brighter days ahead.

Imali smo svoju radionicu obuće u Afganistanu, a sestra i ja smo pomagale roditeljima, iako nismo išle u školu.
