IOM has provided technical and expert support to the RS Government

Within the Joint UN Project “Seeking care, support and justice for survivors of conflict related sexual violence (CRSV) in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, IOM has provided technical and expert support to the RS Government dedicated for the implementation of the recently adopted RS “Law on protection of victims of torture”. In Banja Luka IOM has facilitated a joint meeting between the RS Ministry of Labour, War Veterans and Protections of Persons with Disabilities and dedicated municipal services as first instance bodies in processing claims for recognition of status of victim of wartime torture in RS. All actors involved have participated in the training on all aspects of processing claims in order to grant survivors swift, tailored and equal access to status and rights, accepting with education on trauma and first contact with survivors. In the upcoming period IOM will continue to facilitate the trainings and dialogue in five RS municipalities: Doboj, Bijeljina, Zvornik, Trebinje and East Sarajevo.

U okviru zajedničkog projekta UN-a "Pružanje podrške i pravde za osobe koje su preživjele ratno seksualno nasilje ", IOM je obezbijedio tehničku i stručnu podršku Vladi RS-a u početnim koracima sprovođenja nedavno usvojenog Zakona o zaštiti žrtava torture. U okviru pružanja podrške, u Banja Luci je održan zajednički sastanak između Ministarstva rada, ratnih veterana i zaštite osoba sa invaliditetom Republike Srpske i opštinskih službi kao prvostepenih tijela u procesuiranju zahtjeva za priznavanje statusa žrtvama ratne torture u RS-u. Svi uključeni akteri su učestvovali u obuci o svim aspektima obrade zahtjeva kako bi žrtvama omogućili brz, prilagođen i jednak pristup statusu i pravima, uz edukaciju o ratnoj trauma i prvom kontaktu sa preživjelima. U narednom periodu IOM će nastaviti da podržava obuke i dijalog u pet opština RS: Doboj, Bijeljina, Zvornik, Trebinje i Istočno Sarajevo.
